Upgrade mysql 5.5 to 5.6 ubuntu 14.04

We can easly upgrade mysql version from 5.5 to 5.6.  we need to follow given below steps:

1-  Backup of existing data: By using the given below command into terminal take the backup of

exisiting data from database.

mysqldump --lock-all-tables -u root -p --all-databases > dump.sql

2- Upgrade Mysql Vesrion: After taking backup, run the given below command into terminal.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.6

3- Import Existing Data: Now import the backup data into upgraded mysql by using the given below command.

mysql -u root -p < dump.sql
